This is the same seller that was offering a 32GB flash drive that they said was upgraded to 128GB. They are warning against using a testing tool to detect the fact that it's a counterfeit, indicating that simply testing the flash memory can destroy it. But if this is the case, simply storing a lot of files on it will destroy it in the same way, as all the testing tool does is fill up the drive with 1GB files of random data, reading them back to see whether or not the files each contain the same data that was written to them. Since this is a single write per block, there is no way this action can destroy flash memory, unless the memory was never there from the start. Therefore, I can conclude from the description on Ebay that this 256GB flash drive only contains 16GB of usable storage. So buy this only if you want to pay $1 per usable GB of flash memory, and be sure to run a fix tool so that the device reports the correct capacity of 16GB before you try to store anything large on it. That said, there are far better prices available for 16GB flash drives in other places, as they almost always sell for less than $10 now. If you really want a real 256GB flash drive, be prepared to pay for it, as these are still over $80 for the real thing. However, if you pay for the real thing, you get the benefit of the full 256BB, and the testing tools will correctly inform you that your flash drive in fact does have as much storage space as it advertises, without destroying the flash memory. Fight flash fraud; do not buy this fake product.
