Blind Bargains Qast 116: Pancake Complications Thingy

Apple released new hardware this month with the glass-backed iPhone 8 models and the spiffy Series 3 Apple Watches. BBQ Regular Shelly Brisbin drops by to talk about those objects and give her take on iOS 11. We also have a tip, "Sound Off" and the Last Word" in a very laid back long-form conversational edition of the Blind Bargains Qast.

Sound Off:

Rebecca Skipper gives her opinion of iOS 11 and wonders about the form factors of iPhones.

"Hi,

I m running IOS11 on an iPhone SE.

I m not experiencing any problems deleting messages in mail yet.

However, I prefer IOS10 methods for moving files.

Apple s notification sheet reminds me of Windows notification center because both OS will let you clear notifications.

Would you care to speculate on the future of the iPhone SE?

The move to larger phones isn t for me, and I hope Apple will continue to support their smaller phone line.

Only time will tell, however, even the smaller iPod units disappeared when their sales slowed. Apple likes money but it is still primarily a hardware-based sales company. We'll have to see what happens with 8 models of iPhone in the channel before we begin to speculate which ones get voted out of Apple Park. Next, we're reminded of an old friend of the show. Ali Moosa writes...

"Hello Joe and J.J,
When you guys did shows in other places, I remember you guys had Alena Roberts on hosting one of the shows.
Have you guys looked at having her on the Blind Bargains show?
Hope to hear from you guys soon,
Thank you,
Ali Moosa "

Ms. Roberts is alive and well on the West Coast. Her schedule is crazy and we have not been able to book her for an appearance. We'd like to have her and Pete Bossley on at some point down the road. It is really fun to get the band back together when schedules permit.

Next week, to J.J.'s relief, we probably will talk Google and Microsoft. Both companies, along with Amazon, are releasing new tech objects. Grab the wallets, it is totally the beginning of the holiday spending season for us geeks!
