You can Listen to the Presidential Inauguration Events with Audio Description


The presidential inauguration ceremony and related events will be offered with audio description and other accessibility accommodations. Events start today at approximately 11:30 AM, with streaming links available from this page.

From a statement on the inauguration website, "The Presidential Inaugural Committee has made accessibility a priority in all aspects of the ceremonies and events for the inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris. We are committed to providing opportunities for equitable participation, allowing everyone to engage with our programs."

The ceremony, parade, and other events will be described along with other events including the Celebrating America" program at 8:30 Eastern which features performances by a variety of entertainers. It's all available for free on YouTube. instagram takip i sat n al

Separately, AIRA is offering a live description of inauguration events on Zoom starting at 11 AM Eastern. It's also available over the phone and free for all.

This is not the first time that audio description has been provided live for the inauguration, as WGBH provided coverage for PBS in 2009. HT @lights_rage.
