Classifieds: Free Technology, Culture and Community Resource Fair Saturday in NYC


The Andrew Heiskell Library will be hosting a Technology, Culture, and Community Fair for People who are Blind, Visually Impaired or Disabled on Saturday October 18th, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at Andrew Heiskell Library, 40 West 20th Street in Manhattan. Join us as we turn our library into a hub for representatives from the great cultural institutions, sports programs, technology vendors, and community organizations NYC has to offer. Hear a career assistance panel; attend showcase sessions about accessible culture and technology and hear from professionals with disabilities; Browse accessible museum programs; speak with service organizations; try out assistive technology for reading, communicating, learning, and surfing the web; meet our team of peer technology coaches and set up a free appointment. Organizations represented include Lincoln Center, The Rubin Museum, The Museum of Modern Art, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Guggenheim Museum, Google, Apex, Adaptive Climbing Group, Touch Graphics, Abisee, C-Tech, Orcam, Vis-ability, Eye-Assist, ICanConnect, The Mayor's Office for People with Disabilities, New York State Commission for the Blind, Independence Science, Lighthouse Guild International, Baruch Computer Center for Visually Impaired People, National Federation of the Blind, Creative Adaptations for Learning, PASS Coalition for Accessible and Safe Streets, 3D Photo Works, Gatewave Radio, Touch Graphics, The New York Public Library's Job Search Central, and more! All information will be available in large print and braille.
