Classifieds: Wanted: Help with putting a new laptop computer together.
Hello:
My name is Nancy Prior and I am looking for help with putting together a new laptop computer. I have been blind all of my life and I am a JAWS user. Here is what I am looking for.
A. The computer itself
- At least 15 inches
- A built-in number pad
- At least 4 USB ports
- A SD slot, and cd/dvd drive
- Good battery life
- Good quality speakers;
- Wireless capability
- I use Itunes so I have a lot of music and videos; so I need a computer with good amount of memory
B. Programs on the computer - JAWS
- Itunes
- An accessable email program: right now I use Thunderbird but I am not real happy with it. I used to use Eudora but I don't think it is available anymore.
- Internet explorer and google as my home page
- PDF reader
- I have Kurzweil right now but I am not sure I am going to keep it. Any suggestions or recommendations for scanning software would be appreciated. Right now I am using Apps on my IPhone to read documents.
