If you are a fan of the classic MacBook Pro design, with the tried and true butterfly keyboard, traditional USB ports, and Mag-Safe power connector, then this is the one you want. This is the 2015 Retina MacBook Pro, the last model produced with the classic design. It's also upgraded to the highest specs available with this model, meaning that this is as good as the classic design gets, and it's pretty great. This model includes a 2.8gHz quad-core I7 processor, 16GB of RAM, and 1TB PCIE solid-state drive. It's compatible with the latest version of the macOS. Runs Logic Pro, multiple virtual machines, etc without a problem. Lots of power.
Additionally, this package includes an OWC Thunderbolt 2 docking station, which is great for quickly connecting the MacBook to any equipment you might keep on your desk. With a single cable, the dock connects the MacBook to a second built-in sound device, a gigabit network port, connections for either an HDMI or Thunderbolt 2 display, 5 USB 3 ports, and even a Firewire 400 port.
Sometimes, you need additional connectivity when you're traveling, though, so this package also includes Apple Thunderbolt to gigabit network and Thunderbolt to VGA adaptors.
One final thing. This MacBook Pro is the model that was recently recalled due to battery problems, however, this specific MacBook Pro has never had any problems. Never the less, I took advantage of the free recall to have it serviced and the battery replaced. This means not only is this model now clear of potential problems, but it also has a brand new battery, with less than 12 cycles of charging. It easily gets over 12 hours on a full charge, just like when new.
This is a great MacBook Pro, truly the last of the good classic models, and I've included enough accessories to fully outfit the new user.
