Consumer Alert: Kidde Recalls Defected Smoke Detectors in the United States and Canada

Kidde has issued a recall of nearly 500,000 smoke detectors in the United States and Canada due to a failure to detect smoke. Affected models include PI2010 and PI9010 dual-sensor units purchased between September 2016 and January 2018 and are considered defective if a yellow cap is present on the side of the unit. Consumers should contact Kidde for a replacement and remove and discard the recalled alarm only after their replacement arrives. Click the provided link to learn more and if necessary, have someone examine your units to insure they are not part of the recall.
