Blind Bargains

How to Call Most Businesses for Free Using Skype

Like many of you, we
jumped on Skype's deal that lets you call anyone in the U.S. and Canada for under
$15 a year. But in case you don't have an unlimited Skype plan, we found a simple
way to call nearly any business in the U.S. and it was right under our nose. You
may know that Google's directory assistance service, 800-GOOG-411 will connect you
to a business for free. So, combined with the fact that Skype lets you call toll-free
numbers without charge, regardless of your plan, you can call most businesses in
the United States for free. This may also work from other countries. Update: Edited
to correct phone number.
