#CSUNATC22: Envision's Glasses Gain New Smarts with OCR Improvements, New Languages, Currency Recognition

Envision has announced a major update for its AI-powered smart glasses including improvements to optical character recognition, currency identification, new languages, and document guidance. The new glasses will debut at the CSUN Assistive Technology Conference in Anaheim this week.
Based on Google Glass Enterprise Edition Version 2, the latest iteration of the smart glasses bring many of the same features found on the company's iOS and Android apps. In fact, those who purchase the glasses also get a lifetime subscription to the mobile apps.
New guidance features are intended to help users take a good picture the first time, leading to improved text recognition. This can be done either offline, or via the cloud which supports additional languages. Envision has also partnered with Cash Reader to provide currency recognition for over 100 currencies.
The Ally feature is a private and secure video chat system that can be used to contact friends or family members to gain assistance or just share your surroundings. Other app features including object and person recognition are also included. The company is hoping for further 3rd-party integrations to be available in the future, including potential partnerships with GPS and navigation companies.
The new glasses can be preordered now for $3,500 directly from Envision or through their network of dealers. We hope to learn more this week, so check back for more information as we receive it.
