Good Vibrations: New Seats offer Drivers Nonvisual Alerts of Nearby Vehicles


There's been a fair amount of talk surrounding blind driving recently, so this news article has some interesting timing. Researchers at Yale have developed a new car seat which will alert drivers of nearby vehicles by vibrations. As a driver passes to the left, for example, a vibration would increase in intensity as they moved closer. Many similar technologies are being explored by researchers as a part of the Blind Driver Challenge, a separate initiative. Via Coolest Gadgets
