Introducing the Cosmo Braille Writer

Electronic Brailler has now released the Cosmo Braille Writer, a braille production and teaching tool we have discussed before in our audio podcasts. The device is quiet and can either be used as a stand alone braille writer or as an embosser connected to a computer using Duxbury.

Starting at $2,495, The Cosmo braille writer can also be paired with the Braille Education Remote Tool system, orBERT . This tool allows teachers to teach braille to students regardless of their location. When teachers use BERT, they are able to get immediate feedback on what the student is typing either by looking at it visually or by reading it on a braille display. By allowing braille teachers to work remotely, money and time are saved on travel. This system would also ensure that children in rural areas received braille instruction even if there was not a braille teacher near by.
