Blind Bargains

No Need to Wait Around, Be My Eyes for Android has been Posted

While the official release is scheduled for Thursday, the Be My Eyes Android app has been posted and is available for use by blind and sighted alike.
Be my Eyes was one of the first crowd assistance apps to make a big splash on the scene in 2015, connecting blind users to sighted volunteers who can provide quick answers to life's most daunting questions, such as how to use the air conditioner in the hotel or is this coffee regular or decaf.
Not only does the release of the Be my Eyes app for Android mean more access to blind users, it will assuredly broaden the pool of volunteers, currently at around a half a million. With the ratio of sighted to blind users currently well above 30 to 1, free assistance is only a double tap away.
You can get Be my Eyes now from Google Play. Take a trip down memory lane with our interview with co-founder Thelle Kristensen way back on podcast 1
