Nvda Version 2019.3.1 released, bringing support for new braille displays, screen curtain, more

Version 2019.3 of the popular free screen reader Nvda has been released, bringing built in screen curtain, highlighting, and support for new braille displays.

Nvda 2019.3 brings many changes under the hood, perhaps the largest of which is the upgrade from Python 2 to 3, which will allow for innovations in speech and security in upcoming releases. Screen curtain, previously only available via an add-on, is now included directly within Nvda. Support for several Handy Tech braille displays is also included. An option has also been introduced to allow users to reset gestures to factory defaults, making it much easier to change Nvda's existing gestures and revert if you find that a custom scheme isn't working for you. Landmarks are now reported while using focus mode or object navigation, and you can also elect to have articles reported, or assign a gesture to move between them.

This release is a major one for Nvda, and consequently breaks some existing addon functionality. You can see all of what's new here, check the status of various addons here, and download Nvda version 2019.3.1 here.
