Physical Description

On the left edge from front to back, the laptop has a headphone jack, a USB C port, an HDMI port, and a barrel charger connector. Note that the laptop will charge with USB C, but requires more power than USB C can deliver for optimal use. On the right edge from front to back USB C port, lock slot, and two USB 3.0 regular-sized ports.

The keyboard is pleasant to type on, with regular upside-down t-shaped arrow keys, and space between the function keys at f4 and f8. Above the keyboard keys are some multimedia keys. One thing to note with the keyboard is that there is no insert key, nor are there physical home, end, pageup or pagedown keys, though home/end/pgup/pgdwn keys can be simulated by using the 'FN' key on the left side bottom, to the right of the left control key, with the arrow keys. As a result, when using this laptop, it is recommended that, if using with a screen reader, that you either set your screen reader to use the caps lock key as a modifier, or that you use an external keyboard. To that end, I can provide an external USB mechanical keyboard upon request.

The screen is a 14-inch panel, the touch pad is nice and clicky, the laptop is quite fast and will meet most any need you might have. This laptop comes with a large power brick due to its power requirements, though as I said, it can run on a smaller USB C charger, though not optimally. It runs pretty quietly unless met with demanding loads. Battery life is excellent when not set to its high performance mode, and can easily last five or more hours, even with screen reader usage. When set to high performance mode, battery life takes a hit, and might last 3-4 hours, depending on the task.

The laptop comes with infrared sensors, thus allowing for Windows Hello Face Unlock. The on-board mic is decent for a laptop. The speakers pack a punch for a laptop this size, though it is not Mac quality by any means. This laptop easily handles voice and video calls and web surfing, but can also handle demanding games, audio editing, etc.
