Scan documents with Voice Dream Scanner, available now on the Itunes App Store

The newest offering from Winston Chen, creator of the popular Voice Dream suite of apps, including Voice Dream Reader, Writer, and Mail, now includes Voice Dream Scanner, an OCR app which integrates with Voice Dream Reader for a seamless experience.

The app works both standalone and in conjunction with Voice Dream Reader. In standalone mode, you can scan print documents quickly and accurately, even if you don't have an internet connection, import and read scanned pdf's, and generate pdf's and text files from the scans to be used in other apps. The app uses the voices users have already purchased from Voice Dream Reader to read the text of scanned documents. Alternatively, If users have not purchased voices from Reader, they can read using Apple's built-in VoiceOver voices if they so choose.

The app is available now for $5.99 in the United States App Store, with other countries selling the app for an equivalent price. The purchase enables unlimited on-device text recognition. It is worth noting that only Latin-based languages are supported at this time, so Arabic, Chinese, Greek, Hebrew, Japanese, Korean and Russian, for example, are not currently supported.

You can Purchase voice Dream Scanner on the App Store now.
